Once ensconced in the corner office overlooking Fifth Avenue and 57th Street, James Aguiar's confident, diplomatic manner and unique visual style catapulted him into the core of the New York fashion stars - and landed him in the front row. As style guru for the most exclusive retailer in the world, James Aguiar became a preferred media source for witty and to the point commentary
on fashion.
Before long an opportunity to overhaul the legendary fashion house Nina Ricci proved hard to resist. Living in Paris and an international player on the couture circuit, his imprint would immediately be noticed. His lauded Spring 2003 collection for the house proved that Dawn Mello is a fashion prophet. "James Aguiar, in his debut at Nina Ricci, hit all the right notes with a confident, well-executed collection," reported Women's Wear Daily in October 2002.
In 2004, E! Entertainment Television's sister network STYLE lured James back to the States to co-host "Style Court", a popular make-over program seen daily Monday through Friday. He is also a regular on the popular series "The Look for Less" and a co-host for "Full Frontal Fashion" where he interviews celebrities, designers, and industry insiders in addition to his duties as host of "Where D'ya Get That?".
James Aguiar has also appeared on television's "The View", "CBS Early Show", The Jane Pauley Show", E! News Live", "The Modern Girl's Guide to Life",
"Living It Up! with Ali & Jack", "Life And Style", "Good Day NY", Cinematherapy" and 'Fashion Police". He has been a contributing editor for Arude Magazine,
T.V. Guide, and Fortune Magazine and has been quoted in the New York Post, Newsday, and VOGUE, HARPERS BAZAAR, IN TOUCH, WOMEN'S WEAR DAILY, NEW YORK, and ELLE magazines. His apartment was recently the subject of a six page spread in New York Magazine's Style Design Issue, adding yet another dimension to a well styled life.
